Cookies

Last updated: 2026-10-15

This page lists what aperant.com stores in your browser and why. For how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Here “cookies” also covers similar storage, such as local storage.

2. How we ask for consent

Strictly necessary storage is used without consent, because the site needs it to work safely (Norwegian Electronic Communications Act § 3-15). Nothing for analytics or marketing is stored on or read from your device until you accept. “Reject all” is as easy as “Accept all”.

Without consent, we still count visits without cookies: our analytics tool (PostHog) receives the page, your browser type and your IP address, turns them into a hash that changes every day, and stores nothing on your device.

The Google Ads tag also loads on every page. Until you accept marketing, its advertising consent signals are set to “denied”. In that state Google sets no cookies and gets no ID that recognises you later, but Google does receive your IP address, the page, where you came from, and that consent was not given. Google uses this to estimate how many sign-ups came from ads, without identifying anyone. This happens on every page view, also after you reject: rejecting keeps the signals at “denied”, it does not stop the request. If you accept marketing, Google cookies are set and work as normal.

3. What we store

This list is checked automatically every week against what the site really sets.

5. Block cookies in your browser

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site, such as the forms, may stop working.
